What is a Template?

A commercial document template is a pre-drafted framework designed as an aid and accelerate the negotiation and preparation of business agreements and transactions.

Templates offer a streamlined, efficient, and cost-effective solution for businesses of all sizes.

Our templates are carefully prepared to provide a valuable introductory platform for businesses to document their commercial transactions in a timely and cost-efficient way.

Template Format

Our templates contain introductory notes explaining in brief what they are designed to do and if they have a particular bias towards one of the proposed parties (such as “pro-customer”).

The notes are for general guidance only, are not legal advice and do not cover each and every provision of the template and are not to form part of the final document.

All templates are adaptable and their clauses can be changed or replaced to meet specific requirements and to reflect negotiated positions.

Templates are delivered as PDFs for security reasons and, once downloaded, a Word version can be supplied on request.

Our Templates are fully customisable.

Benefits of Templates

1. Time Efficiency:

  •     Quick Deployment: they allow businesses to create contracts and documents quickly. This eliminates the need for time-consuming drafting from scratch.
  •     Standardisation: With predefined structures and clauses, templates ensure consistency and completeness across all documents, saving significant time during the review and approval process.

2. Cost Savings:

  •    Affordable Pricing: Fixed price templates offer a cost-effective alternative to hiring legal counsel for drafting every document, making professional legal resources accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
  •    Reduced Legal Fees: Templates reduce the number of billable hours to be paid for from external lawyers, as they include a raft of relevant clauses to suit the subject-matter.

4. Customisation and Flexibility:

  •    Adaptable: All templates can be customised to suit specific business needs and unique circumstances, allowing for flexibility without compromising legal integrity.
  •    Flexibility: Templates are designed to be easy to use, with blanks and placeholders for relevant information to be added.

Value Proposition of Templates

1. Productivity:

  • Streamlined Processes: Templates facilitate faster contract lifecycle management, from creation and negotiation to execution and storage, enhancing overall productivity.

2. Cost Efficiency:

  •    Fixed Costs: The fixed price model provides predictability in expenses, allowing for better budget management.
  •    Resource Allocation: Businesses can allocate their resources more effectively, investing in growth and development rather than incurring high legal fees.

Essential Notes

1. Customisation is Required:

  •    Templates provide a general framework and require customisation to fit specific business needs and circumstances. Users should ensure all relevant details and specific terms are accurately incorporated.

3. Jurisdictional Differences:

  •    Legal requirements can vary significantly between jurisdictions. Users must ensure that the template is compliant with local laws and regulations pertinent to their specific location and industry.

4. Not a Substitute for Professional Legal Services:

  •    Templates should not be viewed as a complete replacement for professional legal services. Complex transactions or unique situations may require bespoke legal drafting and advice.

6. Scope of Use:

  •    Users should understand the intended scope of the template. Templates are typically designed for common situations and may not cover all potential scenarios or highly specialised transactions.

7. Accuracy of Information:

  •    The accuracy of the final document depends on the information provided by the user. Ensure that all entered data is correct and complete to avoid legal complications or disputes.

8. Intellectual Property Rights:

  •    Users must respect the intellectual property rights of the template provider. Unauthorised reproduction or distribution of the template will violate these rights and lead to legal consequences.
