What does GPT stand for?

"GPT stands for "Generative Pre-trained Transformer". It is a type of language model architecture that uses a deep neural network to generate human-like responses to natural language input. The "pre-trained" part of the name refers to the fact that GPT models are trained on vast amounts of text data before being fine-tuned for a specific task, such as question-answering or language translation.

The "Transformer" part of the name refers to a specific type of neural network architecture that was introduced in a research paper by Google in 2017. Transformers are designed to be more efficient at processing sequences of data, such as words in a sentence, compared to earlier types of neural networks. The use of the Transformer architecture is a key factor in the success of GPT models in natural language processing tasks. "
